6th Submission Wrestling Finnish Open 2004


Competition Invitation


Time and Place
August 28th 2004, 13.00
At Kupittaan Sportshall, Turku, Finland.


Illegal Techniques
no strikes or kicks
no locks or small joints (fingers and toes)
no throws or takedowns where the opponent lands on head or neck
no techniques against larynx (front of throat)
no hair pulling, fish hooking and eye-gouging
to rub the body liniment or body oil etc.

Points
-1 jumping from standing into guard, mat escape/fight escape
take downs what end half guard or guard (3sec control)
flips, sweeps or turn from bottom to top position
knee on belly position (3 sec.), mount position (3 sec.)
passing the guard, back-mount with feet hooked in
“clear” (pass guard) takedowns and sweeps (3sec)

The referee’s decision/judging can not be overruled!

10 minutes in the finales (first 5 min without points)

Weight classes
Mens
-61 kg, -67 kg, -73 kg, -79 kg, -85 kg, -91 kg, -97 kg and + 97 kg (= heavy weight)
Ladies´ -50kg, -55kg, -60kg, +60kg

Next weight classes winners get place to 2005 ADCC European Trials, 22th January Stockholm Sweden.

-91kg to -87.9kg
-97kg to -98.9kg
+97kg to +99kg

The Organization of Competition keeps the right to connect weight classes in case there is not enough fighters (min. 2 fighters in each weight classes).

Equipment
Fighter may use tights, shorts (and T-shirt) or Kimono


Matt
7 x 7 metres tatame.
Mat escape, same position as the fighter were in when they crossed the mat line.


Prizes
Every weight classes’ three best fighters get medals.
The team that gets most of the points gets the “Best Team Cup”

Points: 1st place 5 points; 2nd place 3 points; 3rd place 1 point.

In competition place at 11-12.00.

The Competition starts at 13.00.
