| Abu 'C. Desert Dog' visited us last Saturday to join the 50th Sparring Meeting of the Wolfpack, amongst 30 fighters from all over Germany and Switzerland. He was the first to be there. When I arrived to unlock the hall, he was warming up with double stick, headsets on, hearing music. He was in a good mood, happy to be there and looking forward to make as many fights as possible. The pack gathered, we warmed up, I did the startup speech and the fights started. Good vibrations, good people, long lasting experience with sparring - we did over 2500 fights over the last 5 years, more light and full contact, rarely in Gathering Mode. As usual, we started with Knife fights as warm up, Abu did the last Knife fight before switching over to stick fights. Here he did 3 fights single stick fights within 15 mins, his last two fights where in a row. I acted as the ring man, as usual. His fights where very low level, very technique, no hard hits at all - in the second fight, sticks went off and they did some friendly boxing, before the fight ended up in clinch and ground, were Abu tapped quite fast. There was no hard impact at all. He was out of breath, sitting on the stairs, talking shortly to his last sparring partner in a friendly manner, whilst the fights continued. I realized that he was starting to hyperventilate, so I talked to him, asked him to stand up, raise his arms and breath calmly. He said, that 2 fights in a row might have been a little to much - this should have been his last words. We moved him 2 meters to the changing room, were we sat him down, lifted his arms and tried to calm down his breath. After a view seconds, his eyes rolled back - no pulse, no breath. We immediately layed him to the ground, lifted his legs and started with heart massage and breath and called the Ambulance. They arrived a view minutes later, followed by the emergency doctors. They did their work for another 90 minutes before they declared him dead - I think, he was dead, when his eyes rolled back. I knew Abu since 4 years now, as a hard working man, travelling 900 kilometers 1 to 2 times a year to visit our sparring sessions and the seminars of Lonely Dog. We met at the Euro gatherings and had talks and drinks. He walked as a Warrior for all his days and died as a Warrior, 46 years old, fighting until his last minute. My thoughts are with his family and all the fighters, being with us on Saturday, staying with him to the end. Rest in Peace - Abu-Dayyeh "C- Desert Dog" Vanda - you will be in my mind forever. Torben 'C. Old Dog' Lorenian We´re organizing donation for his Family, if you´re interested to help the family monetary, pls send me a PN. A Picture of Abu taken during last years Gathering in Bern.

Abu, Du wirst uns fehlen. |
