ich bin da auf einen knapp zwei Wochen alten Bericht bei FoxSports über Karate Stunden für Spieler einer amerikanischen Profi Football Mannschaft gestoßen ...

Ob es wirklich was bringt ? Klar, Karate ist nunmal sehr wertvoll ...
Also ich habe einige Jahre Football gespielt und sehe den Artikel zwiespältig.
Beim Football sind die Anforderungen je nach Spielerposition sehr unterschiedlich. Je nachdem könnte es sein, dass Karate da Impulse gibt. Und "body control" und "flexibility" sind immer gut ...
Andererseits kommt es mir doch eher vor wie ein Off-Season-Motivationskick für das Highschool-Team - hat ja offensichtlich gewirkt ! Als Trainer hätte ich da vielleicht Angst, dass Manche gleich beim Karate bleiben ...
Ein großer Unterschied ist die innere Haltung. Während ein Ziel beim Karate innere Gelassenheit auch im Kampf ist, verläuft ein Football-Match -bei aller Disziplin auf dem Feld- doch eher in hochgeputschter "Stimmung".
Wenn man wieder und wieder mit dem Gegner zusammenknallt, oder mit Ball in die gegnerische Abwehr hineinrennt, dann eher mit dem Messer zwischen den Zähnen, als mit unbewegtem Geist.
Aber gerade das, wäre ein interessanter Ansatz - aber nicht mal so eben zu lernen.
