Babalu Joins Gracie Barra Combat Team
The manager of current IFC light heavyweight tourney champ Renato
'Babalu' Sobral announced today that Babalu has left the Ruas Vale Tudo
Team, and has now joined the newly formed Gracie Barra Combat Team in
Brazil.
ADCC News commented that: "This change is an example of the new
mentality in the brazilian MMA world. Years ago, it would be impossible
to imagine Luta-Livre representatives like Alexandre Cacareco (Hugo
Duarte), Renato Babalú (Ruas Vale-Tudo), Eduardo Simões (Ruas) and
Flávio Moura (Budokan) training together with Jiu-Jitsu champions like
Marcio Pe de Pano, Roger Gracie, Marcio Feitosa and Alexandre 'Café'
Dantas. But professionalism has erased old prejudices and built new
schools and ties."
