SHAMROCK CLEARS THE AIR ABOUT FUTURE

Frank Shamrock was in Ft. Collins, Colorado over the weekend as a special guest at the new King of the Rockies mixed martial arts fight promotion. Frank took a moment to sit down with MMAWeekly's Ken Pishna to discuss what the prospects of him fighting again are, what happened with his Shootbox promotion and Caesar Gracie.

In a recent press conference, DSE President Nobuyuki Sakakibara said that he was hoping to involve Frank Shamrock in future Pride shows. Asked about this, Frank said that, "I have been negotiating with Pride... to join their team for fighting."

He said that many names had been bandied about as far as potential opponents are concerned, but was quick to add that "nothing is in concrete. I do not have a signed agreement at this stage. We have come to terms for an agreement, but the agreement has yet to be executed." Frank seemed very pleased, saying that, "Pride has made me a very generous offer and, if all goes well, I will be fighting for Pride in March... in Las Vegas."

Negotiations between Frank and Pride have, seemingly, been ongoing for years, so it's no surprise that he was very adamant that, while he appears fairly confident that he will soon be fighting for Pride, no contracts have been signed.

Nonetheless, even if the negotiations with Pride fall through, Frank plans on moving ahead to continue fighting, "I'm negotiating with several other companies, all of which I can't name, unfortunately. I have been contacted by the four biggest companies for fight negotiations. I have made it clear to them that I will be fighting for, at least, the next two years. Whoever comes to terms and pays the bills, I'll be fighting for."

Interestingly, Frank's "four biggest companies" doesn't appear to include the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Asked if there was still a door open to fight for the UFC, Frank said, "There's still a door open with the UFC. They have not contacted me about fighting. They are my last choice."

Whether it's the UFC or not, Pride or not, it seems that Frank Shamrock is ready to, once again, resume his career as a fighter in MMA.

Check back with us tomorrow as Frank tells us if there is still a Shootbox promotion or not and drops the dime on Caesar Gracie.
