Hellas,
No Mind and Breathing
I’m beginning to get the no mind or absence of a fixed plan or perception, this started to happen when i developed a better understanding of Chi Sau and a better frame (structure) the structure is a perfectly balanced neutral, it has a seeking intent but not a forced way, there is no ”I” must win or what ever. this allows me to detect things that try and disturb the balance ” harmony ” of my frame, the power doesn’t come from my will to dominate but from the synergy of moving from one perfect position to the next this creates an non emotional centrifugally force (Lat Sau Jik Chung) like a bats echo gives it tactical information and guidance
when 2 harmonized frames work together at a smooth pace your senses com alive and you can feel the changes that try to distort your fame and your path and make corrections, not just hit and hit and sacrifice your frame and position to hit ,,, but hitting because it is required to maintain your balanced frame and position … or fulfill the guidelines of the concepts [ accept what comes, escorts what goes in the absence of contact fill the void ] basically the principle of running water or the tide LOL
if my mind is free and im not worried about some knuckle head dick swinging then this can work really well and it’s fun ,, develops your ability to navigate a conflict ..
Power is irrelevant since to much distorts your balance and mind and not enough wont support your frame so you must be a neutral at all times fully aware yet not emotionally committed, No Minded [ if you ''FEEL'' powerful then you are most likly holding onto emotonal and physical tensions actually restricting the flow of natural power ] thus the saying ”power comes from the ground and channels through the mind ,,we are just conduits [ unlees you Kev Bell a self made dynamo ]
Power and hard hitting [ the feeling of transferring power ] is worked with other drills and with pads and mitts, wall bags double end tennis ball [ or supplemental training like the pole ]
The path is what chi sau / lop sau / pivoting drills / footwork drills / and sparring develop all separate for specific skill sets that support each other seamlessly
once i freed my mind and understood that Chi sau is just a way to train frame and path and feeling and conditioned habit based on keeping the frame integrity, and not some end all be all war. then i started to see the genius in WSL and his VT
he broke it all down so it could recycle
the Fame is developed by the forms, the base drills Don Chi / Don Chi with footwork / Double single sticky and LSJC drills for each shape [ Taan ,bong Fook and Wu ] and Pak sau drills and punch to punch drills [ always hammering home frame / perfect shape/ and attacking center, development of the elbow and the stance ] these and others develop the SLT concepts and habits [ notice there is no emphasis on techniques or fixed patterns drills ]
Lop sau / Pivoting drills / double center drills / Seung ma Toi Ma , horizontal chi sau are CK development drills introducing 3 dimensional problems of space and motion
Lop sau sparring and isolated sparring and free sparring are to test your bad habits then return back to your base drills and the forms to refine and repair [ notice no talking of winning just development and training constant refinement ]
a perfect cycle
