Hello!

I am from Finland and I will be living in Köln for 2 month, starting from April. I am a blue belt and have trained for 3 years.

So to get to my point I am looking for BJJ gyms/clubs where to train during my stay in Germany. It would be very helpful for me if the club would be located near Wesseling. (a little south of Köln) I have managed to find a couple of clubs in Köln area but most are MMA or submission wrestling oriented. I mainly train in BJJ but also do some submission wrestling.

Sorry for posting in English but believe you don't want me to try making it in German. I would appreciate if you could answer in English. Thank you. :)

Hi!
There are basically two gyms/clubs in Cologne that focus on BJJ. Both are not located that near to Wesseling.
The first one is Peter Schira's team, located in Köln-Nippes: CHECKMAT GERMANY (http://checkmat-germany.de/)
The second one is the Clube do Leao, located in Köln-Dellbrück: https://www.facebook.com/ClubeDoLeao or FIT & FUN Köln Fitness Club (http://www.fitfun-koeln.de/sparten.php?sportart=6)
Both would take you some time to get there if you depend on public transport.

A third possibility would be the Cologne Scorpions (as far as I know the trainer is a brown belt graduated by Peter Schira) but it would also take you some time to get there: Cologne Scorpions Kln (http://tyrons.wix.com/cologne-scorpions1)

From Wesseling you can also reach Bonn via tram line 16. There is a possibility to train BJJ near the main station: Home - Beez Neez (http://www.beezneez.de/) or https://www.facebook.com/TheBeezNeez.GER?fref=ts

Hi,
there is also the Combat Club Bonn in Bonn Tannenbusch.
It's probably the nearest one. You just take the tram 16 to Bonn.
It should take you about 15 Minutes from Wesseling.

They have BJJ twice a week and Grappling 3 times a week.
The BJJ Trainer is Daniel Marquez Soares an Alliance brownbelt from Ecuador.

Thank you very much for the answers. I found them very helpful.

I will most likely be visiting at least couple of the gyms you named on regular bases. It seems I have to get close and personal with the German public transportation, but I'll figure it out.

You're welcome. For the Cologne public transportation you should check this website where you can find maps of the tram and bus stations: Klner Verkehrs-Betriebe AG (http://www.kvb-koeln.de/german/fahrplan/linienplan.html)

Combined with GoogleMaps, where you can also find the stations, this might help you a little bit to get an idea of how to get from point A to point B and back. :)
