Hi,
Walter wollte selbst antworten.
Hier sein Post:
Dear Murphys Law,
One of our German BN group leaders (Eric Tschende) send me this post of you on a German MA forum, and i am happy to answer your questions to the best i can.
There was never any secretiveness about Bukti Negara, uncle Paul de Thouars created this art around 1985 to spread and to promote this art. At one time BN was very big and even in Europe there were some affiliated schools.
The current organisation is not lead from Breda the Netherlands but is lead by a number of board members three of them in the States while the other two are in Europe, and yes my home city in Breda in the Netherlands.
Further on there is no such a thing as a de Thouars Serak, yes uncle Paul is a de Thouars but that doesn't make Serak a de Thouars art. Serak is a West Javanese style created by a man named Pak Sera(k). The style went from him to his mayor students Mas Djut and Mas Rhun. After them the uncles John, Ernest en Ferdinand de Vries among other mayor players as Theo Schrijn. From there the style went to the Netherlands after the Indonesian freedom fight against the Dutch colonisation time. Uncle John de Vries thought his cousin Paul de Thouars from 1955 to 1960, the other uncle Ventje de Vries thought about 10 students among them his sons Dolf and Nono de Vries, but also some students who spent a lot of time training with uncle Ventje de Vries.
Howe many schools are there at the moment? You can check the official website about that. School info | PDT Bukti Negara (http://www.pdtbuktinegara.com/school-info/)
My specific background in Silat/Bukti Negara?
My training starts in 1978 under the guardians of Pak W.L. Flohr and after his passing in 1998 i got the chance to train with the de Vries family. According uncle Dolf de Vries Pak Flohr's teacher Pak Hoessin trained with Ventje de Vries in West java in the 1920ties. So their styles looks similar in a way. Back in 2009 i got in contact with students of uncle Paul de Thouars and and long email back and forward we went to LA to meet uncle Paul afterall he was direct family of the de Vries uncles. Ones in LA uncle Paul offered me to learn the way his uncle John learned him which joyful accepted. This didn't happen overnight and it took some travelling back and forward to LA in three years i had the chance to visit uncle Paul 10 times two weeks longs every time.
After a few visits uncle paul asked me for help, he asked me to spread and promote BN, which after a meeting between uncle Paul and the de Vries uncles was accepted by me. Since BN comes from Serak which i have been training under the guardians of the de Vries family BN was a much easy to understand.
How did BN change?
After the uncles de Vries and uncle Paul had their first meeting in Holland in july 2011 they agreed to work together, with that they connected the both lineages (uncle John and uncle Ventje in BN. BN in what we see now id a more pukulan based system then it was before, it simply became a stronger art.
I hope i answered your questions.
Best regards from the Netherlands,

von paul de thouars hab ich mal gehört, pdt bukti negara sei "the essence of serak" und zwar gemacht "for the american people", also letztlich für "den westen" designed.

Gruesse
