Offenes Statement zur nachträglichen Änderung von Kampfrekorden bei Sherdog
Seit einiger Zeit erreichen mich als Gründer und ehemaligen Chef der Free Fight Association (FFA) immer wieder Anfragen dazu, warum wir bei Sherdog MMA Events von Profi- auf Amateur-Veranstaltung zurückgestuft sowie einzelne Kämpfe von MMA Sportlern gelöscht haben.
Über die möglichen Hintergründe und persönliche Motivation der/des Verantwortlichen, gibt es im Netz genug zu lesen. Dazu muss ich nicht hier nicht im Detail äußern.
Einige werden jetzt denken, dass dies nicht wichtig ist. Doch auch wenn die betroffenen Kämpfe bereits einige Jahre zurückliegen, haben diese Änderungen direkte Auswirkung auf die derzeitigen Angebote von großen MMA Organisationen, die Kampfbörsen und die Zukunft der Kämpfer. Deshalb sehe ich mich zu dieser Stellungnahme gezwungen:
- Weder ich noch ein von mir beauftragter Manager haben die Änderungen bei Sherdog vorgenommen.
- Als entscheidendes Kriterium, ob ein Kampf als ein Profikampf gewertet wird oder nicht, gibt Sherdog allein das angewandte Regelwerk an.
- Bis 2009 hatten wir in Deutschland ein Regelwerk, das eine Mischung aus den "Pride Rules" aus Japan und den "Unified rules of MMA" war.
- Ab 2009* wurden die "Unified rules of MMA" zur Grundlage für das auf FFA Wettkampf-Veranstaltungen gültige Regelwerk.
Legt man die Wertungskriterien von Sherdog an, das international als unabhängiges, vertrauenswürdiges MMA Informationsmedium wahrgenommen wird, so müssten Events wie die FFA New Talents, die New Generation und alle Titelkämpfe der FFA als Profikämpfe gewertet werden.

Statement concerning the subsequent amendments to fight records by Sherdog
As founder and former head of the „Free Fight Association (FFA)“, I have been receiving enquiries for quite some time now, as to why the MMA events in Sherdog have been changed from professional to amateur bouts and why certain fights from MMA fighters have been removed completely.
There is no need for me to go into detail here about the possible reasons and motivation of those responsible, as there has already been enough written about this topic on the internet.
Some people may think that this is not important. However, even though the fights in question took place several years ago, these amendements have a direct impact on the current offers from large MMA organisations, fight salaries and the fighter´s future. For these reasons I feel forced to state my opinion on this matter:
- Neither I, myself, nor a manager authorized by me, made these amendments in Sherdog
- A decisive factor by Sherdog as to whether a fight is counted as professional or not are the rules applied
- Up until 2009 a combination of the „Pride Rules“ from Japan and the „Unified Rules of MMA“ were applied in Germany
- From 2009 the „Unified Rules of MMA“ were the basis for the rules applied at the FFA Events*
According to the evaluation criteria from Sherdog, which is regarded internationally as independant and trustworthy source of information, events such as the FFA New Talents, the New Generation and all FFA title fights should be listed as professional bouts.
