Grandmaster Arnulfo L. Mongcal
On Jan 15th, 2005, our Grandmaster Arnulfo L. Mongcal died at the age of 80. The world of Filipino Martial Arts has lost one of its great, old masters, a true exponent of the art. GM Mongcal was one of the top students of the late Balintawak genius Venancio 'Anciong' Bacon. The loss of one more of these few who gained such vast profiency in the art leaves the world of Balintawak in grief.
We, the people of NECOPA, have lost the person to whom we owe all our knowledge, who passed on his great skills and spirit which made NECOPA possible. He led us along on a way which we would not have been able to walk alone. To his great content, we learned to see that way as well as we learned to walk.We are and will always remain grateful beyond any limit for all the spirit, wisdom and knowledge which our Great Grandmaster shared with us.
He will never be forgotten.
