Today, 11th of July 2007, The Contender Asia Press Conference took place at the Gallery Hotel, Amadeus Room, Singapore.
The event started with the showing of the trailer:

Mr. Riaz Mehta, CEO of Imagine OmniMedia
Dr. Christopher Chia, CEO of MDA
Mr. Lim Chu Chong, Managing Director, DBS Bank
Also, a video clip featuring Mr. Mark Burnett and Mr. Scot Cru of Mark Burnett Productions (they were in pre-production of The Boxing Contender in US) was shown.
Mr. Mark Burnett is quoted saying: "Contender Asia brings together 16 of the best undiscovered Muay Thai fighters in the world."
"The planning of the show took more that a year, the full production of Contender Asia will start next month" - Mr. Scot Cru.
There will be 15 episodes, all filmed in Singapore and broadcasted on AXN for the asians markets in October. Mr. Riaz Mehta mentioned that they are in negotiations with other media companies to broadcast the show in US and Europe.
The 16 contestants will be competing in the art of Muay Thai - thai boxing, with elimination matches every week. The best CONTENDER will emerge at the last fight.
The initial fighters list had more than 100 names on it, 16 were selected for the show, two of them were presented today:
