Eastern-European Wing Tsun Organization
EEWTO
At the late 70's years in Yugoslavian karate master-teacher have seen a very high level Wing Tsun demonstration presented by Greatmaster Leung Ting in London, and they started to like Wing Tsun very much. They invited the Greatmaster in their home land to hold a seminar and because they do not wanted to belong to the western Wing Tsun Organization, they asked Greatmaster Leung Ting to establish the Eastern-European Wing Tsun Organization, the E.E.W.T.O. The goal of that was the teaching and improving of the instructors in eastern Europe, and the distinction from the Western-European Organization. Because of that Greatmaster Leung Ting visited Yugoslavia two or three times in a year in the beginning of the 80's to rise the instructors of E.E.W.T.O. to a higher level as soon as possible. The Greatmaster made a handout containing the special training program of Wing Tsun, what helped the students prepare to the fight. After a few years from that handout the "Dynamic Wing Tsun" book was born, in which forewords Leung Ting is referring to the handout.
It is worth to notice, that for a time England was also part of the Eastern-European Wing Tsun Organization. The managing committee of the Easter-European Wing Tsun from that time was strictly taking care to preserve the characteristic of the Chinese branch. After the middle 80's as a feature of the Eastern-European Wing Tsun summer camps have been organized at the Adriatic. The Easter-European Wing Tsun Organization is not just a name, a calling, it represents more over the belonging to the Hong Kong Headquarter and the many high level hard training, and not the last, the students learning in the Eastern-European Wing Tsun Organization are able to wear the uniform also official in China, too, and they got the official Chinese diploma.
In the middle of the 80's years the Yugoslavian instructors visited our country and helped to scatter the Wing Tsun. Sadly, in that time as dynamically the Hungarian Organization was developing, so started the Yugoslavian Wing Tsun clubs to decay. Partly because of the economical crisis of the country, other side because that the leaders of the two Organizations have represented a fully other direction. (In Yugoslavia they started to train Wing Tsun mixed with box.) Because similar reasons the Polish schools started to weaken at the end of 80's. It is enough to look the first form and it is visible that it is not developed to make in 12, 14 or 16 oz glove, and not to talk about the other Wing Tsun forms.
But in Hungary it was always that Wing Tsun partitioned what took the schools in the right direction - a technique of a woman, where the chance to survive is not based on a regular fight. Because a woman has no chance in a regular, sporty fight.
Si-Fu Máday Norbert, the current leader of the Eastern-European Wing Tsun Organization is the last active member of the instructors of former E.E.W.T.O, because others have either finished or leaved the path to continue their career in other ving csun. Si-Fu Máday Norbert is currently on 7th master level, compared to the leader of the former E.E.W.T.O, who was on the 5th master level. Greatmaster Leung Ting affiliated Si-Fu Máday Norbert as his son during a tea ceremony. Greatmaster Leung Ting also asked him more times to lead the branches in USA, but Si-Fu had not accepted that, because of his close relation to the Hungarian students. In the October of 2004 Greatmaster Leung Ting told the last double knife techniques to Si-Fu Máday Norbert, by which he learned the highest Wing Tsun techniques, too. The "new" Easter-European Wing Tsun Organization has constructed a strong branch in Hungary, took back the real Wing Tsun to Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, preserving the traditions of the old E.E.W.T.O., alloying with the new techniques ideas of Greatmaster Leung Ting. It is important to notice that the Eastern-European Wing Tsun Organization is not making contracts with the students - opposite to the western-European Organization. The love to the Wing Tsun, to the instructors and the tenacity and loyalty to the leaders, and the very high level teaching is binding the students learning here to the Organization. The Eastern-European Organization had keeping the official uniform and the original symbols of the levels, too. Neither in the past, nor in the future is ESCRIMA instructed here, because either the foot, or the hand techniques are not compatible with the Wing Tsun techniques. In the Eastern-European Wing Tsun Organization the instructors are getting the official master diploma given out by Greatmaster Leung Ting.
