Special Information from the International Chiu Chi Ling Hung Gar Kung Fu Association, Europaen Headquarter, Master Dr. Martin Sewer 5.Dan
Hung Kuen 10th Dan, Grand Master Professor Chiu Chi Ling 60th Grand Birthday.
(note: For Chinese, 60th, 70th, 80th... birthdays are considered Grand Birthdays).
On 20th January, 2003, as the Chinese calender is on it's way to the New Year of the Goat, in such an occasion over a hundred of the students, grand students from about a dozen countries of the International Chiu Chi Ling Hung Gar Kung Fu Associations overseas branches has gathered in Hong Kong, with Martial Arts senior Master and representative and officials, secretary Mr. Huang De Chao of Shun De City Authority, Mr. Liang Guo Cheng, Mr. Chiu Hoi Ming, principals of the Museum of Fat Shan Ancestor's Temple and the Wong Fei Hung Memorial Hall from China, Master Poon Tai Shun, Mr. Ma Shun Yan of the Sai Chiu Shan Wong Fei Hung Lion Dance Team, Mr. Eddie Oshin of the Wing Chun Academy, University of Stanford, USA, Chief Editor of German Karate Kung Fu Magazine, and movie star Jacky Chan, Kong Tao, all presented their gifts and congratulations.
The banquet were held at the International Restaurant on Nathan Road, Mong Kok, many Masters of other Martial Arts styles and oversea's students and grandstudents give demonstrations, it begin with Switzerland branch's (Kung Fu Schule Martin Sewer) performance of the Lion Dance, the atmosphere is very high, everybody shared their turns and exchange their opinions, with no boundary where everyone fully enjoyed the evening's event, and of course Grand Master Chiu Chi Ling had taken photographs with each and every group to preserve this grand gathering for memory.
He also accepted various presentations from representatives of USA, Holland, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, India, Czech etc., their gifts included banners, silver plates, caligraphings, and especially a copy of the ancient script of our staff set "Ng Long Pak Qua Kwon", and some money gift, and each of the students and grand students also executed grateful protocal when they presented their gifts to the Grand Master in a serious and respectful manner.
Grand Master Chiu Chi Ling also presented them in return souveniors and certification of their gradings.
The Hong Kong news reporters also make their reportings to the medias for this great event. Grand Master Chiu also shared his huge birthday cake with everyone and toasted with every round table, and everybody sang the birthday song for him to wish him "Live as long as the Southern Mountain, green and spring like the pine tree", a very prolonged celebration to his birthday before, during and after the banquet before it's over.
