Hello Jake,
As always you are to be commended for all your efforts and hard work to keep the legacy of catch wrestling alive.
I enjoy following all the latest goings on of you, your associates and organizations, as well as the seminars and grappling events.
Josh Barnett certainly ranks at the top of the present day catch wrestlers. And indeed it will be a historic occasion when he takes on Yoshida next month. According to my records and research on that same date March 5, Santel wrestled to a draw with Nagata in Tokyo (1921); the following day he wrestled to another draw with Shoji. Later in the month in Nagata, Santel beat Shimizu. Those are the only three matches I have been able to confirm during Santel's 1921 tour of Japan. All three opponents were from the Kodokan, and apparently had been discouraged from taking part in pro contests but did it anyway.
Here is a list of all the other Santel jiu-jitsu and mixed style matches that I have been able to authenticate:
11/30/15-San Francisco-Santel beat Noguchi
