Boxing News | Ruslan Chagaev aims to become heavyweight champion again with win over Oquendo this SundayRuslan Chagaev aims to become heavyweight champion again with win over Oquendo this Sunday
Chagaev wins WBA heavyweight title with majority decision over OquendoBoxing News | Chagaev wins WBA heavyweight title with majority decision over OquendoWith the win, Chagaev is now recognized by the WBA as world heavyweight champion along with Wladimir Klitschko, who holds a 2009 win over Chagaev.
Klasse.
Unglaublich. Das wird sicher ein harter Prüfstein für Klitschko ...
"Man kann Leuten nicht verbieten, ein ***** zu sein." (Descartes)
Boxing News | Shannon Briggs officially world rankedThe last U.S. heavyweight champion of the world Shannon Briggs (55-6-1, 48 KOs) has officially been world ranked by the WBA with a ranking of 14. The ranking is significant because upon approval by the sanctioning body, a boxer needs to be ranked at least number 15 to be eligible for a non-mandatory world title defense by the world champion. Briggs was contacted this past Friday to possibly step in to fight now two-time WBA world champion Ruslan Chagaev (33-2-1, 20 KOs) on just two days’ notice. Briggs without hesitation replied immediately that he wanted the fight.
Boxing News | WBC champ Stiverne laughs off Wilder tauntsWBC heavyweight champion Bermane “B. Ware” Stiverne (24-1, 21 KOs) says he is amused by comments coming from mandatory, #1 challenger Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KOs). “He’s not going to get under my skin,” Stiverne said. “I think he’s funny. Maybe he should think about doing a comedy act after I beat him? Friends have sent me stuff he’s said and done. It’s funny. He’s like a little kid who needs attention, so he keeps opening his mouth. His trash talking doesn’t bother me at all. I saw some people who brought up what he’s said. What am I supposed to do, hand my title to him? I guess he wants to entertain his fans. If he thinks his tricks are going to bother me, he’s going to be in big trouble.”
Boxing News | Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora trade words at tense London presser, shake hands on cash bet ahead of July 26th rematchRival British heavyweights Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora came face-to-face at a London press conference today, yet another promotional piece to further hype up the rematch that will go down on July 26th in Manchester. And Fury, who out-pointed an admittedly out of shape Chisora back in 2011, was very much in fight mode today; letting loose with plenty of foul language and having to be pulled away from Chisora, who is also up for this fight, a final eliminator for the WBO heavyweight title, in a huge way. At one point during the proceedings, though, Chisora apologised to the fans for the foul language Fury was letting loose with.
“I don’t give a f**k how many women and children are in the audience,” Fury, sporting a shaven head, shot back. “We’re getting near to the fight and I’m in fight mode, kill mode.”
The two then shook hands on a cash bet.
“I bet you ten grand I knock you out,” Chisora bellowed.
“Ten grand is chump money to me. I give the kids that to go to the shops. Make it winner takes all – or at least 100 grand,” Fury shouted.
Das wird so lustig.
VERDAMMT!!!
Fury-Chisora abgesagt!
