Tournament style
Single Elimination Tournament in all weight-division. The winner of a match advances to the next round. The loser is eliminated from competition.

Official Shidokan Rules for Knockdown Karate, Glove Karate (Kickboxing) and Kata.

Knockdown Rules

Fight Time

Kids 1 (7-9 years of age): NO CONTACT TO THE HEAD PERMITTED! All matches are 1 minute with a possible overtime of 1 minute (draw). After the overtime Judges declare a winner.
Kids 2 (10-13 years of age): All matches are 2 minutes with a possible overtime of 1 minute (draw). After the overtime Judges declare a winner.
Youth (14-17 years of age): All matches are 2 minutes with two possible overtimes of 1 minute each (draw). After the second overtime Judges declare a winner.
Adults (+18 years of age): All preliminary matches are 3 minutes, with a first overtime of 2 minutes and a second overtime of 1 minute (draw). After the second overtime Judges declare a winner. All final matches are 3 minutes with two possible overtimes of 2 minutes (draw). After the second overtime Judges declare a winner.
Legal Techniques
-Punching with the Fist (Knuckles) and Ellbows to the Body during Stand-Up Fighting
-Kicking and Kneestrikes to the Head, Body and Legs during Stand-Up Fighting
-Clinching (3 seconds)
-Throws, Takedowns
-Groundfighting with Chokes and Joint-Locks (5 seconds)

Illegal Techniques
-Punching or kicking an opponent on the ground
-Throws on the head or spine
-Small joint manipulations
-Slams
-Clinching, Throws and Groundfighting in all Kids and Youth divisions
-Kneestrikes to the head in all Kids and Youth divisions

Equipment
The Promoter provides Shinguards and Headguards for all fighters under 18 years of age. All fighters must have a mouthpiece, a groin-cup (male fighters) and a chest protector (female fighters).

Uniform
All fighters are requiered to wear a white Karate Dogi for the fights, tied with a belt. Sleeves must cover the Ellbow.

Glove Karate Rules (Kickboxing)

Fight time in the preliminary Matches is 1 Round of 3 Minutes duration. Fight time in the Final Matches is 2 Rounds of 3 Minutes duration with an intervall of 1 Minute between Rounds.

Legal Techniques
-Punching with the Fist (Knuckles) to the Head and Body during Stand-Up Fighting
-Kicking and Kneestrikes to the Head, Body and Legs during Stand-Up Fighting
-Clinching
-Throws, Sweeps (throwing fighter has to remain standing)

The Promoter provides Boxing Gloves for all fighters. All fighters must have a mouthpiece, a groin-cup (male fighters) and a chest protector (female fighters)

Uniform
All fighters are requiered to wear a white Karate Dogi Pants or a Kickboxing Short. No other clothes allowed. Female fighters must wear a tight top (no T-Shirts) over the chest protector.

Every Team can have a maximum of three Coaches, who can enter the venue for free.

All Athletes and Coaches, who participate at the European Shidokan Open Championships will have free entrance to the night show of SHOOTO KINGS VI: Ichigeki!
