SAD NEWS FOR THE JEET KUNE DO WORLD!!!
I am greatly saddened to announce that Sifu Taky Kimura passed away this morning at age 96. Sifu Taky was Bruce Lee's Assistant Instructor at the original Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute in Seattle, Washington. He was a wonderful man, an one of the kindest human beings that I have ever met in my life! I visited him in Seattle on a few occasions, and spent time with him at all of the Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do Nucleus events. I last saw him in Seattle a few years back, when several of my senior students and myself went out to visit him. He was definitely not himself at that time, and was having some mental issues, but it was still wonderful to see and spend time with him. I remember thinking while I was with him that this would be the last time that I would ever see him alive. That turned out to be true. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and his loss is a tragedy for the Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do community. My prayers go out to his remaining family members, and to those who were fortunate enough to have him as their immediate Sifu. Sifu Taky, although you have left us, you have gone on to a better place where you are no longer suffering and feeling no pain. Thank you sincerely for all that you have done for me and for all who were Blessed to know you! You will live on forever in our hearts and minds! God Bless you Sifu, and may you Rest In Peace!
