DAAB - Thai Sword Demonstration @ Loy Kratong Festival (Netherlands, 1980s)

This video is of a Thai sword demonstration at the Loy Kratong Festival in the Netherlands in the 1980s. The two practitioners were among the first Westerners who learned the ways of traditional Thai sword fighting. As you can see, they had their handling skills, their Wai Kru and their Ram Daab nailed and were trained to hit their opponent instead of cutting thin air. Originally it was planned to use steel swords, but the Dutch officials didn't gave their permission, so wooden training swords had to be used.
