During last GAISF Council meeting, held on October 17th WAKO is pleased to announce that GAISF council, held in Lausanne (Switzerland) on October 17th, granted final approval of WAKO’s membership .
At the GAISF General Assembly held in Seoul (Korea) on last April 7th, WAKO and IAKSA were required to complete their merging process to finalize their recognition. That task was finally completed in Croatia , on occasion of last World Cadet and Junior Championships. WAKO and IAKSA merged in the Extraordinary General Assembly which took place in Zadar on September 27th.
New WAKO Statutes and ByLaws were unanimously voted and presented to GAISF.
“We are very excited about GAISF final acceptance of our Kickboxing Sport and that WAKO is the official representative federation at GAISF. With our revised, transparent and democratic statutes we have the foundation to support our strong International Kickboxing Organization in the future” - commented Ennio Falsoni, President of WAKO.
“Merging IAKSA with WAKO was the necessary step to unite Kickboxing in the world. I am happy to see that GAISF acknowledge and reward this positive direction and I hope that other federations will join us” - added Horst Prelog, President of IAKSA and newly elected WAKO Vice President.
At the GAISF council meeting held in Lausanne, October 17, they granted WAKO the final approval as GAISF member.
From now on, World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) - a not for profit association, composed of autonomous and independent national federations and other national organizations contributing to the Kickboxing Sport and its various styles- is the only official kickboxing body in the world.
