Es ist kein Geheimnis, dass UFC-Präsident Dana White gerne mit Superlativen um sich wirft. So kündigte er auch für die heutige Pressekonferenz, die soeben zu Ende ging, „große Neuigkeiten“ an. Im Einzelnen wären dies:

1. Die UFC habe alles Menschenmögliche getan, um Fedor Emelianenko unter Vertrag zu bekommen. Das einzige, worauf sie sich nicht einlassen würden, sei eine Co-Promotion mit M-1 Global. O-Ton White: „I’m over the deal!“

2. Vitor Belfort, der einstige UFC Schwergewichtschampion, wird in die UFC zurückkehren. Sein Comeback nach über vierjähriger Octagon-Abstinenz findet am 19. September bei UFC 103 statt. Belfort trifft im Hauptkampf auf den ehemaligen UFC Mittelgewichtschampion Rich Franklin. Das Duell wird im Halbschwergewicht ausgetragen.

Somit ist nun auch sicher, dass Belfort nicht im September bei der brasilianischen Organisation Bitetti Combat kämpfen wird. Eine brasilianische Zeitung behauptete vor wenigen Tagen noch, er würde dort gegen den Franzosen Moise Rimbon antreten.

Belfort vs Franklin find ich gut das nix neues um fedor bei raus gekommen ist war mir klar. Copromotion hatte die ufc ja schon immer abgelehnt!und wegen eines kämpfers,auch wenns zur zeit der beste ist, kann mann ein konzept nicht über den haufen werfen! Fedor hat noch 3kämpfe vertrag bei m-1. mal sehn was danach passiert aber vorerst darf man sich wohl von dem Gedanken"fedor in derer ufc" getrost vergessen. Fedor bei strikeforce und einem title match gegen overeem steht nichts mehr im wege. strikforce pickt ja nach und nach, die kämpfger die bei affliction unter vertrag waren, auf. warum also nicht fedor. zudem können sie einen sehr interessanten fight mit den beiden auf die beine stellen. mal abwarten

Due to a large amount of media requests, M-1 Global Co-Owner and President Vadim Finkelchtein has released the following statement in response to questions regarding an update on the status of contract talks between Fedor Emelianenko and the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

“There have been recent reports stating that talk between M-1 Global and the UFC regarding Fedor fighting in the UFC have ended. Like some of the other reports that have surfaced, this is incorrect.

“It is unfortunate that so much incorrect information has been leaked to the public. It is M-1’s preference not to negotiate in public and we are unsure why people claim that Fedor and M-1 turned down a six fight, $30 million contract to fight in the UFC when no such offer was ever made.

“Even though Lorenzo Fertitta and Dana White did not meet with Fedor in person on Tuesday, they were represented over the phone. Outside of representatives of the UFC and M-1, no other company was represented during our negotiations. Since we did not go to the media with details of the meeting and only responded to the erroneous reports, we are unsure how these reports started.

“It’s unfortunate because these type of tactics will not help ensure that M-1’s talks with the UFC are fruitful. M-1 Global is still interested in continuing to negotiate with the UFC and while we are fielding offers from other major promotions, nothing has been decided. It is our hope that the UFC will remain in active dialogue with us as we try to find ways for us to work together. All we are asking is that there is give-and-take in the negotiations and that they are not one-sided.”

ok, dann bemühen die sich doch mit der ufc. dana sagt: im over the deal. finkelstein sagt was anderes. was ist da los die sollen endlich mal hinmachen!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7. Der vor wenigen Wochen von White angekündigte große Deal, der die „UFC für immer verändern würde“, sei „ganz kurz“ vor der Vollendung.
