I agree. Black belt is the beginning: then you know the basics and it doesn't mean you will be able to handle real life situations. On the contrary, over estimating oneself (because one has a black belt) is very dangerous in real life self defence situations. If you're a black belt in martial art/sport X..., you can always try to follow a (trial) Krav Maga training where training is closer to (self defence) reality than in most other martial arts/sports.
