Zitat von
Tantal
Naja in Jesses Video ist das Zitat ja "he really discovered it from karate" und mich würde da interessieren, was genau das "it" sein soll.

I need more context. What is the "it" he's referring to? Footwork, parrying, a particular punch? What interview is the quote from?

There may be more to the story here. I found at least one blog citing Ring Magazine that Cus D'Amato and Joe Lewis met in 1971 in New York. Though it may be that cus was trying to convince him to become a boxer. Is there something about the American kickboxing system that came from karate that has the information we're looking for

Look on YouTube for Joe Lewis 1970 Toronto kickboxing. And I think we have the answer. Joe Lewis throws a number of hooks by crouching and standing with the hook.

Cus D Amato literally told Mike: Hit like those Karate guys, with mean intentions! lol
