I have a slightly older model, a 2014 Audi A3, and it's starting to look a bit "faded" now, especially the color of the paint. Unlike many other things on the car, the paint is pretty worn, and after a thorough inspection at the dealership, I was told that repainting it would be quite expensive. So I started looking for alternative solutions, and that's when I came across vinyl wraps.
I've seen a few videos on YouTube and even seen a few cars in town that have been wrapped. What bothers me, however, is that I really have no idea what kind of vinyl wrap is best for my car. Does it have to be particularly robust because I live in a city where there is a lot of construction work and gravel roads? And what about the colors? I was thinking of a matte black or maybe a gray metallic look. But that probably doesn't look equally good on every model, right? What do you think? I'm also not sure if I should do it myself. Sure, I'm a bit handy, but I've also heard that applying the wrap is really difficult. Do I then have the option of changing it later if I don't like it? Or should I get help from a professional, even if it's more expensive?
