Was macht die Hüfte genau? Wird sie gestreckt und leitet das Gelenk- und Muskelarbeit ein?
Zitat Zitat von Belonoha, 2006: The Wing Chun Compendium Volume 1, pp. 102-104
The mechanics of the punch are much like those of other power delivery machines. One example is the power bar of a steam engine wheel. The bar generates power by pushing forward in a straight line and then circles around underneath returning to the originating position in preparation to deliver forward power again. The punch works much the same way, the leading hand drops down just enough to allow the rear hand to rush straight forward. As the punch rushes forward the other hand returns to the elbow position, ready to rush forward.
Regarding the generation of power, the arm must be fully extended when punching.

The punch in ving tsun [spelling of wing chun by Ip Man and his family (see p. 21)] is made up of three body engines that when timed together properly create a whipping power. These engines are the hips, elbow and wrist, supported by the ground. Each has a specific movement.

The upper body should remain motionless.
Zitat Zitat von Webb, 2016: Analysis of the Wing Tsun Punching Methods. In: Michael A. DeMarco (Editor): Wing Chun. Writings for Advanced Practicioners, p. 15-17
Perhaps the most well-known fighting technique of wing tsun gongfu is the straight-line thrusting punch (yat-gee-chung-kuen) [...]. This short, jolting strike begins by holding the fist vertically and placing it at the center of the chest. As the punch is thrusted outward, it travels forward along the centerline until the arm reaches full extension.
    [...]
The power of this punch relies on three key factors: first, the fist must travel as straight as possible towards its intended target; second, the fist should remain closed but not tightly-clenched, which ensured that the whole arm is loose and relaxed; third, the punch should be thrust out to full extension as quickly as possible. Rapid and full contraction of the triceps generates the acceleration needed to propel the fist outward with explosive power [...]. In any case, to generate powerful straight-line punch, one must develop powerful fast twitch triceps, strong latissimus dorsi muscles, and most importantly tendon strength in the wrist and elbow joints. Correct muscular development and punching technique are evidenced by a deep, audible snapping sound when a punch is thrown in the air [...]. This whiplash effect occurs when the elbow joint locks out and the shoulder recoils.
    [...]
Along with conditioning the muscles and tendons of the arm itself, development of the fist is of equal importance. In contrast to the typical reverse punch which strikes with the top two knuckles, the wing tsun straight-line thrusting punch uses the bottom three knuckles and the shins of those fingers as well [...]. Structurally, the wing tsun straight-line thrusting punch provides optimum stability along the line of power.
    [...]
In both real-world application and in resistance training against a target, the elbow remains bent until the fist makes contact. At that moment, the elbow will fully extend and delivers its power.
Vielleicht kann man damit hier die Diskussion voran bringen?
Ich knobel für mich u.a. zur Zeit an An-Abgrenzungsfragen zwischen Wing Chun (Arten) und JKD bzw. JF:

Zitat Zitat von Cheung & Wong, 2000: Wing Chun Kung Fu / Jeet Kune Do: A Comparison Vol. 1. Seventh printing, p. 39
The wing chun straight punch and the jeet kune do straight punch would at first appear similar, but the differences between them reveal some of the basic differences in the approach to generating power. Both profess the vertical fist, and keeping the elbow in to generate force from the center of the body. However, wing chun advises the independent movement of the arm and the shoulders, and, to stay balanced, not overreaching. Footwork is used to establish a close enough distance. Jeet kune do, on the other hand, advises putting the shoulders into the punch, and even reaching upon impact, the sideward stance, compensating one's balance. Jeet kune do also is capable of initiating the straight punch from farther out.
